Hey Paisano,

Great to hear your voice again, bro! You sound chipper, as always! You know, every day at work I hear many of my coworkers talk about the quickest, least painful way to get fit. I swear the local fitness rags offer a new pill or gadget every week that promises to deliver results while allowing you not to miss happy hour! You know what I mean? No one wants to just get down to the nitty gritty of the truth. And that truth is sweaty, old-school fitness.

A couple days ago I was talking about your programs with the boss of this company I'm working for now. The guy spends $120/hour for some ok hot-shot trainer at this trendy gym to take him around on the machines. I'm like, "Dude, you don't know what you're missing! All you have to do is press play in the comfort of your home!" Man, he just couldn't grasp the idea of working out at home. No injury-inducing machines, no elliptical state-of-the-art treadmills, no 150 lb dumbbells that he would never even touch anyway, no downtown supermodels on crack to leer at. I guess in his mind that's really working out? Well, better he than I!

Hope to see you upstate this summer!

Nick

Hi Tony, Ruth from the Miami camp. As the saying goes if it came in a bottle or a pill, everyone would be fit and trim.

I also think another problem of the "take a pill" solution for everything started with our parents generation. Thats when the medical community really made advances in various forms of medication to cure everything physical and mental. When my parents were my age our medicine cabinet at home was full of RX pills. My mom was told at a early age that she needed depression and sleep medication and has taken it ever since.

My goal for my self is to never have to take any long lasting medications. I want to stay healthy and fit so that I don't fall into the high blood pressure, high cholesteral, depression or sleep disorders that have seem to attack my parents generation.

Eating well, excerse, and taking my vitamans and supplements I think will be my best defense against the Pill Trap.
