Buy This!

Hey blogger lovers,

My apologies for being away for so long. As many of you may or may not know, I'm writing a book. I swear my brian is toast. I don't know how a daily columnist does it. Anyway, I think this book is going to solve many of the health and fitness conundrums many of you suffer from. It's due in January of 2011. Still working on the title with some friends in facebook. Should know soon enough.

Now on to why I'm writing to you today. As many of us transition from eating crap to healthy fair we find that the good stuff can taste like wax when we're so used to eating massive quantities of fat, sugar and salt. One solution is finding yummy, healthy sauces to put on our healthy wax food. Ha! One of them is chimi churri argentine vegetable and meat sauce. Holy taste buds Batman! This stuff can make anything taste like magic in your mouth. Thank you Missy!

Here's what it is...
Wine vinegar, water, balsamic vinegar, salt, tomato, hot chili pepper, garlic, paprika, oregano, chili powder, thyme, pepper and rosemary. Come On! The maker is Fair For Trade. So it's healthy and a free trade product. Everyone benefits. Check it out at www.interrupcion.net. Get it. Use it. Benefit from it.

Writing is like working out, is hard in the beginning then just let it flow.
Not sure if you thought already of this title for your book, but one of the phrases you always say and has been highly inspirational for me is "do your Best and Forget the rest"...it applies for everything.

    Tony-

Doing P90X a second time and working in training for a half marathon in May. (the guys at the gym nicknamed me gunner) Love you and your products. Can't wait for the book.

    How about:
    "Bring it!"
    "Tony Horton's Tell All"
    "Commit to Success"

    My 2 cents.
    Have a great day!

  5. Who's Brian and why is he so tired? Must have been doing a whole lot of P90X. Another great thing about blogging is people razzing you for mis-spellings.

After commiting to the P90X and loving every second of it I am for sure looking forward to your book.

Best of luck and how about this for a book title, I'm Tony Horton subtitled, I've Brought It!

You have truly inspired me to do things I never thought doable before. I am working on Round 2 P90X and stepped it up to the P90X Plus this round! Have to say, "I LOVE THE PACE!" You, Traci and Mark do an EXCELLENT job!

Good luck with the book title. For me, it is simple..."It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This" ... because I know it will be another inspiration for me to keep pushing even harder!!!

  11. Here is a good idea to make protein shakes taste delicious. Take two scoops of strawberry protein, 1 packet of quaker "weight control" cinnamon oatmeal, 1 banana, a few shakes of cinnamon, and 6 ounces of water; blend it up. With the cinnamon, banana, and stawberry, this protein shake tastes amazing. I look forward to drinking it before every work out. The oatmeal gives you complex carbs that fuel your workout and help you recover throughout the day. As a post work-out shake, I put two scoops of protein in the blender, carrots, spinach leaves, and a few shakes of ground nutmeg. Carrots and spinach leaves are some of the best vegetables you can have. When you add the ground nutmeg to the shake, you can't even taste the vegetables. It becomes a tasty post-workout drink with lots of nutrients; almost like a pumpkin pie in a glass. Adding these healthy ingredients and spices to my shakes has kept me from wanting to cheat on my diet.

    Hey Tony,

You know, I remember you making a comment about writing a book back in the MasterSeries videos. (BTW, I still enjoy those workouts!) Five years later you're getting the job done. Right on, bro! If you can, please mention that yoga magical moment at the '07 NY camp. You remember that one, right? Man, the whole room shook... With all these volcanoes erupting and earthquakes around the world, we all need that inner peace right now to realize that the future is a true mystery and not to worry.

Thanks for the sauce idea, man. This month I WILL put that 200 pound mark in my rearview mirror, yeah!

  14. Tony, you are an inspiration to so many, especially me. I have a book launching this month and constantly recommend P90X to anyone I meet. I love working out, because I get to watch your personality and zest for a healthy life.
Can't wait to read your book.

  18. Tony has a couple yoga DVDs available shorter than the X version. Go to karicrosby.com and look under the shop and trainer tabs. He has a beach work out that is half an hour, fountain of youth (one on one) yoga, ten minute trainer yoga, etc. Check him out.

  23. If you get all of your calories from clean, unprocessed foods you'll have no problem losing weight very quickly. Simply cut all processed foods out of your diet, especially refined sugars, flours, and vegetable oil. Eat only meats, fish, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, beans, and legumes. Also include small amounts of healthy fats like extra-virgin olive oil. For the fastest possible weight loss results also avoid starches like grain products and potatoes, or learn how to cycle them in and out of your diet in a way that confuses your body and stimulates your metabolism.

  26. Forget the book, Tony - print is dead. You should do a TV show. I've been hooked on Biggest Loser, where they take Obese people and shrink them to reasonably normal. What if you did a show where you took reasonably normal people and turned them into Calvin Klein models with abs? It would have more mainstream appeal. Keep it up. I love your tapes.

  27. Mari, to answer your question,P90X was not designed for weight-loss originally. People who have lost weight modified the program to suit their needs. P90X was developed to get you ripped and toned. The results will come from the style you choose to follow in the program. Lean (more cardio), Classic, Doubles. Many ladies go after the 'lean' program, fearing 'bulk', but I would recommend the Classic program and keeping your reps between 12-15 reps with lighter weight. The only way to look like a body builder (aka bulky) is to train and eat like a body builder.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at coachkcrosby@yahoo.com. I'd love to help you with anything I can. Have a great day and press play!

  28. Chimi Churri sauce is great. I used to live in Argentina for a few years and that was a staple sauce down there. I absolutely LOVE it, especially on any meat. Forget the A1, I will take the chimi churri any day. I also found it makes a great marinade as well.

  34. Tony,

Thanks for the idea on the sauces. My wife and I just finished our first cycle of P90X, but didn't follow the nutrition plan at all. We still loved the results. We plan on starting a second cycle soon and will be following the nutrition plan this time. I can't wait to see the results.

I'm sure you've already decided on one, but here's another book title suggestion:
    "Bringing it to the People"

Thanks for the awesome workout series!

  38. I am in support of P90X because I have benefited from the system and I know it is beneficial for improving results for the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT).
Prior to implementing the P90X system, I had taken time off from working out. I went about two months without doing pushups, sit ups or running. I then started the system in June 2010. In July 2010, I reported to a Command Staff General College for Intermediate Level Education. The transformation was incredible, my body was noticeable different. I re-developed abdominal muscles after gaining 10 pounds intentionally and losing all aspects of my abdominal muscles. My shoulders, arms and chest all displayed a noticeable difference.
I performed the APFT on 23 July. The results of my APFT were incredible. I saw an increase in my push up stamina, I was able to perform 80 pushups within the first 90 seconds and I was not at muscle failure. During my prior APFT I performed less than 70 within two minutes and had reached muscle. I was able to perform 80 Sit ups prior to the end of two minutes, and had not reached muscle failure. My previous results were under 70 and it was a struggle. I improved my time in the run by implementing the cardio and leg strengthening exercises in conjunction with once and sometimes twice a week 2 mile runs. I increased my time by almost 60 seconds.
I have benefited from the results and I know it can be a beneficial alternative to preparing for the APFT or as a routine workout. The secret behind the P90X system is an advanced training technique called Muscle Confusion, which accelerates the results process by constantly introducing new moves and routines so the body never plateaus, and getting bored is not an issue. Whether becoming lean, bulking up, or just getting ripped, there are a number of ways to mix and match the routines to keep the motivation the full 90 days and beyond.

  40. My wife and I also started the program a few months back after my oldest son started using P90x. He played college football and was over 300lbs but in good physical condition. He now weighs 228lbs.

My wife and I both have lost just over 10lbs each in the first few weeks and we are toning up. Both of us have been fairly active in our lives but at 43 and 45 years old it was time to get back to it..THANKS TONY!
