Message Of Love

I've been a big Pretenders fan since their heyday back in the 80's, and when Erika Brule (TH Birthday Bash coordinator) asked for my 15 favorite songs for the party, I had to put The Pretenders "Message Of Love" on the list. The lyrics in this song remind me of the effort put forth in this community to help and support each other.

MESSAGE OF LOVE

NOW THE REASON WE'RE HERE
AS MAN AND WOMAN
IS TO LOVE EACH OTHER
TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER
WHEN LOVE WALKS IN THE ROOM
EVERYBODY STAND UP
OH, IT'S GOOD, GOOD, GOOD
LIKE BRIGITTE BARDOT

NOW LOOK AT THE PEOPLE
IN THE STREETS, IN THE BARS
WE ARE ALL OF US IN THE GUTTER
BUT SOME OF US ARE LOOKING AT THE STARS
LOOK ROUND THE ROOM
LIFE IS UNKIND
WE FALL BUT WE KEEP GETTIN' UP
OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER

ME AND YOU, EVERY NIGHT, EVERY DAY
WE'LL BE TOGETHER ALWAYS THIS WAY
YOUR EYES ARE BLUE LIKE THE HEAVENS ABOVE
TALK TO ME DARLIN' WITH A MESSAGE OF LOVE

NOW THE REASON WE'RE HERE
EVERY MAN, EVERY WOMAN
IS TO HELP EACH OTHER
STAND BY EACH OTHER
WHEN LOVE WALKS INTO THE ROOM
EVERYBODY STAND UP
OH IT'S GOOD, GOOD, GOOD
SAY I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU

Think the greatest attributes we,as humans display is our perserverance heart and spirit. This song says it all... Weve all been there. We can be in the deepest of holes.. and somehow we come out of it.. Thanks Tony for the lyrics! Cathy From Colorado

  2. Tony,
It was great hanging out with you again this weekend in LV. I'm looking forward to the next time our paths cross. I hope you decide to share your iPod play list that you use to workout. That'd be pretty sweet. Also, if you get a chance listen to this song "Gift" by O.A.R. I think you'd really dig it.

    Later man,

    Joey

  3. I'm thinking Duran Duran, Hungry Like the Wolf is fitting for a One on One workout, or Eye of the Tiger, Survivor. Wow, the memories, the Rocky movies, and the weird hairdos. :-)

Ah, Tony, the wild and woolly '80s! When the Pretenders were belting out their lyrics of love, my buddies and I were getting our kicks by running over cabbage patch dolls with my parents' Volkswagen minibus!:) Not a lot of love going on there!! Oh, well, fast-forward 25 years, and I'm in my apartment one day organizing my Beachbody library of DVDs. I'm just saying to myself, man, there's a whole bunch of love and care sunk into these videos, like nothing I've ever seen. The dialogue, the production, the moves, the scenes; it's all there for us to learn, enjoy and spread the word. Love, it's what makes our world go 'round.

We love you, Tony! Mike and I had JuliAnne and Kathleen/Rockstar over for dinner last night. It was a great night of laughter, encouragement, and good food. We even talked a bit about YOU. :)

    Have a great Friday, friend!

P.S: Nick, so THAT'S where my Cabbage Patch Doll went! jk!

WOW!!What a great weekend in LV and you are right, each camp I realize I am tougher than I think I am and I push it a little harder each time. I felt like I spent the weekend with family.
What a great song. I also agree with Joey, I hope someday you do decide to share your workout playlist because it was great, especially the ones during yoga.

    Thank you for everything.

I certainly agree with the rest of the bunch here on getting to know your favorite work-out tunes Tony. That would really be interesting.

  11. I told you sharing your playlist was a good idea. You might want to partner with iTunes on that one. They have celebrity playlists available. You might be able to make a nice residule income or you might just be generous and post your songs here on your blog.

    Thanks Tony,

    Joey

    Dear Mr.Horton,
I have so much to say to you. First is THANK YOU. Your p90x program has been helping me so much. My parents are currently in a divorce and it has me emotionally screwed up and doing P90x helps me from turning to food to deal with it. If you want to email me back (which i know you won't) It's rinkerstephen@yahoo.com.
    Thank you so much,
    Stephen R.
