On this Christmas day we have an opportunity to count our blessing and look to the future. The New Year is just days away and quite often we neglect healthier choices and blow off our workouts with the hope that come 2011 we'll get our act together again. Why not turn this week between Christmas and New Years into a productive 7 days. Temptation is everywhere and holiday obligations abound but I know you can manage at least three workouts this week and avoid eating fruit cake and Christmas candy. Give yourself a 7 day running start before January 1 because going in strong is a whole lot better than starting bloated and grumpy.
Peace,
Holiday Horton

Tony ... amen! Thanks for the reminder to stay focused.
By the way, my daughter is 20 and just had her tonsils out this week, and while she was in the port-anesthesia recovery room (and still under the effects of the drugs from the operating room) she kept referencing P90X and quoting you from P90X ... they told her she needed to take it easy for a few days and she said "I can't bring it" and made the X with her arms (IV still in place); then they told her she would beback to full strength in a week and her response was "Practically" (as in "We look exactly the same ... practically" when talking about you and Joe B; when they asked her if she was ready to go, her response was "Absolutely" in the same voice as in one of the warmups; she ended up with 5 or 6 P90X references ... of course the nurse had no idea why my wife and I were cracking up laughing the whole time! Anyway, you obviously have infiltrated her subconscious thoughts. And, she's feeling better and getting ready to BRING IT again!
Merry Christmas!

Great Advice. I think it's fine to relax during the holiday, but I'm really looking forward to getting back into the usual routine again as it pertains to nutrition and exercise.
Just got your new book Tony and I am loving it. Thanks for writing it. I am going vegetarian. So scared but excited too.
Tony, thank you so much for the inspiration, or brutal honesty, whichever. ;-) I'm starting back into watching what I eat today and going to do my best to get at least 3 workouts in this week..if not more! I'm bringing it into 2011!!
Looks like we have a new year resolution a week earlier.
Tony,
This Christmas, I'm thankful for P90X and your corny jokes that kept me laughing every single time I heard them...."Most workouts would be over by now...NOT OURS!" I do a daily blog for New Year's Resolutioners that marriages the psychology/nutrition/fitness, especially for women and their emotional relationship with food. Here's an invite to follow...www.thecadefamily.blogspot.com.
Thank you for your inspiration.
Thanks for the info and happy holidays!

Hi Tony!
While Christmas shopping I came across the pre-sale ad for your new book, Bring It!, which I went ahead and ordered.
I had a couple of questions for clarification, and a comment.
1. You ask people to get off of coffee; what about decaf?
2. Your meal plans look like they contain a really small calorie count--great for weight loss, but how do I overcome feeling hungry all the time, which I do?
My comment is that for those of us who travel for a living, being able to find fresh, raw and wholesome foods is a real challenge. Also, have you seen some of those hotel gyms?!?!
I can't wait to put it all to use to make 2011 the best year ever!

Hi Tony,
I just heard about P90x today when a caller mentioned it on the Dennis Prager Show. I was intrigued by it and looked it up, and read the reviews on Amazon - but I'm a little worried about starting it. I'm on dialysis three times per week and I'm also a cancer survivor (multiple myeloma). The P90 sounds more my speed for now, perhaps(?).
I lost about 50 lbs three years ago when I changed to a vegetarian/vegan diet with an emphasis on raw foods. I was declared in remission that year. (The diet I follow, by the way, is NOT the diet recommended by my dialysis provider - you'd probably be horrified by what they recommend; it's truly bizarre.)
Can you comment on what steps I would need to take to get in shape? I'm 57 years old and pretty much out of shape but at least I am employed and able to take care of myself. My weight has stablized to about 63 kg.
Any help would be appreciated. The dietitians at the dialysis place are accustomed to working with physical basket cases and regular dietitians won't touch dialysis patients with a ten-foot pole.
I received the book at Christmas and have the resolution of phase 1 of the meal plan - that's after 1 FULL year of P90X - Thanks!
Tony,
Thanks for the encouragement. This was exactly my plan. The week between Christmas and New Years is fast with the short week. The next thing I know its Saturday 1/1/11 and I have a great week of workouts. I am starting the New Year feeling great. P90x has changed the way I exercise. Muscle confusion not only helps my body to keep from plateauing but also my mind. I used to get bored about 4 weeks into any other program. I am on day 6 of the P90x classic, (finished lean routine a month ago.) And every time I hear the music at the beginning like Pavlov’s dogs I salivate and can’t wait to work out. Thank you for the right post at the right time.
Brian
Tony - how about a 'free' app (iPhone/Droid) that has the shopping list for the recipes in the back of your book! =) I got the book for Christmas (have been doing P90X last year!! love it).
I am currently typing in my shopping list into my free droid 'list' app ... am going to try some of your recipes, since this aspect of P90x, I have not done.
You don't have to list the recipes (i.e. others can buy the book/program), just give us a shopping list per recipe :)
Please!! ;) (Listening to you on QVC right now ... I wish you could do a daily show somewhere - fitTV!)
2 years of doing P90X saved my knee this December skiing in CO! Day 1 run #2, I was flying down the mountain having a blast, caught an edge and had a huge yard sale! I tore my MCL completely and pulled my ACL anywhere from 25-50%. Dr's at Vail Valley/Stegman said that if my legs had not been as strong as they were, I would have damaged a lot more. That happened on Dec. 17th. On Jan 4th, I did Plyometrics (with my therapist cursing me along the way for talking him into doing it with me). Mind you I had to modify a bit on the Jump Knee Tucks and the Rock Star Hops. But I managed to get off the ground quite a bit and finished the whole thing! Two and a half weeks after my injury and just one and a half weeks of Therapy and I am about 80-85% back. I am training to get back on that same mountain and conquer that blasted run in February! Thanks for having a program that has kept this 46 yr. old woman strong and kickin'!

True. before the years ends, I realized that it was the best to to pour out my time to enhance my body, and that's what I did. I spent 3 days in between Christmas and New Year.
It was fun and memorable knowing that a lot of friends came along with me. :-)
Yeah. It is very important to be cautious and careful on what we eat, especially this season. Actually, we can eat pretty much what we want without damaging our health. We just have to know how much we should take.
Tony,
I attended our book signing on 15 Jan in Arlington, VA. I have been a fan since I ordered Power 90 back in 2002. I began my workouts that year first Tae Bo and lost 40 pounds but my body did not transform until I picked up weights and began the interval training in your workouts. I lost another 20 and I've kept it off now since 2003.
It was great getting to shake your hand and have you acknowledge my success at the book signing. But you ruined it all in two seconds flat. My daughter and I were coming out of the elevator after the signing and I thought I'd forgotten my purse so I stopped the elevator door from closing. We realized that she had my bag - but at that second you came up behind us and instead of simply saying "excuse me please" you said "IN OR OUT GIRLS" as if we were causing you problems with our 2 second delay. I'd hoped you were as nice in person as on the tapes but I guess not.
I'll still workout and buy your new products - but I hope you'll remember that we fans beleive you to be the man we see and not a self centered/self important celebrity.
Linda
Graduated (I still can't believe it) from my first round of P90X on 11/21/10. Started 2nd round on 1/10/11. How come the 2nd round seems tougher than the 1st? I'm definately stronger, but finding the break really was a detriment to my progress. Staying focused on becoming a P180X grad. Then on to Insanity. Thanks Tony and team
Hey Tony my name is mitch and i just started p90x. Im 15 and am currectly 22.3% body fat and weigh 168.6, i have been doing cardio and lifting for 2 months and i seem to stay the same. I eat once or 3 times a day, but mostly protein.
Should i eat 6 times like everyone suggests and keep the same amount of protein intake or what?
Thnx
Hey Tony, I'm 17 years old and am following the P90x workouts. I think they're great but I just don't have the time to do the whole hour until summer arrives. I have chosen to do 30-45 minutes of the routines but push harder on the exercises. Is this a good move? By the way, the food plans tastes awesome!
Tony, i acquired p90 as a christmas present and just want you to know its awesome. Anyway i was at the gym the other day and got an idea for an exercise i call hour-glass sit ups. have no idea if this exercise has been invented but i did them and they blew up my abs. thought maybe it would be a good addition to add on when i do your ab ripper x. If by some chance you read this and want to know more my email is cubfanq@yahoo.com thanks
Thanks for sharing bunch of information.I love to hang out I love to spend my holidays in Dubai that was my most memorable Holidays I can't forget them.
is p90x for me if i want to gain a lot of weight?
Dear Tony,
Let's be bros.
Tony,
If you read these or perhaps an assistant, I would like to get in contact with you.
I am a Kinesiologist who teaches golf in Westlake Village. I'm interested in doing a study on how your program might affect the clubhead speed of golfers. It seems to have active and passive stretching, and explosive movements.
This could be a very good way for you to reach a new segment with your program. Please get in contact with me.
Steve
Hi Tony.
I'd like to thank you for sharing your knowledge but most importantly, your mentality.
There are some tips you give about working out that many people - even those really experienced about working out- usually ignore, which is: to try to make it simple.
"Don't make it rocket science."
This is the best gift you could give us. God bless you.
I can't wait to back in the groove as soon as we get moved into our new house. I'm even planning on installing a permanent pull up bar in my basement. Everytime I check out your facebook page, I'm blown away by the before and now pics. Wow! Thanks for sharing the new schedule. What is the One on One like?
